Holiday Pictures
Finally, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…. I’ve uploaded our Thanksgiving pictures and pictures from Riley’s first birthday party. I even managed to include some recent family photos taken earlier this fall. You can view them by clicking the links to each category, or view them all together in my “recently added” picture page.
In case we haven’t talked to you recently, here is a short description of what we did to celebrate Riley’s birthday. We had a good time for Riley’s birthday. Sanni’s grandma and aunt from Finland were here visiting for two weeks. They spent their first week in California with Sanni’s sister, Taria, and also Hannele and Will who were there for Thanksgiving. Then they came here for the next week. Anyway, they were still here on Saturday the 10th when we celebrated Riley’s birthday. We had them, Hannele & Will, Aliisa & Paul (Sanni’s younger sister and husband), and her other aunt and cousin who live in Portland all over to our house for pie and ice cream. We watched the video of Riley right after his birth and took some pictures. And Riley loved all of the attention everyone was giving him.

Halloween Pictures
I’ve uploaded some pictures and a video of Riley’s Halloween costume this year. (Everyone that saw him thought that he was just the cutest thing ever!) I even included a couple pictures of the pumpkins that Sanni and I carved for Halloween. (I previously wrote about where I got the cool stencils, in case you want to try a neat design next year.)

New pictures and videos
It’s been a while since I’ve posted some pictures and videos—so I decided it was time to do so again. I’ve posted some great new shots of Riley, along with some amazing new videos of his latest “talents.” And I’ve also included some pictures from our recent trip to Seattle to visit some friends over the 4th of July weekend. We bought a house!
I’m a little bit slow making this announcement—you’ve probably already heard the rumor by now… but just in case you haven’t, I want to make it official.
My wife and I have bought a house here in Vancouver! We’ve been discussing the issue for quite some time now and were planning on doing some serious house hunting later this summer. But Sanni couldn’t seem to wait that long and started doing some preliminary looking around “just to see what’s out there.”
I should have know better.
We ended up going to look at a house (just for fun, of course) and really liked it. So we decided to make a offer on it and see what would happen. Well, our offer was accepted and now, only a few short weeks later, we’re happy new home owners. (We’ll be even happier after our move tomorrow and after getting things settled again.)
The whole process has happened so quickly. We were lucky not to have any problems. It has also required a lot of time and effort from both of us to keep the deal moving along. But everything has been finalized now and we received our keys yesterday.
We’re both really excited. It’s a very nice house and will be a nice change from a small apartment. We’ve still got a lot of work in front of us though (i.e. painting, moving, unpacking, yard work, etc) to make it our “home”, but at least it will be our home this time.

New pictures and video of Riley
I’ve uploaded some new pictures and a video of Riley to the media gallery. Riley is two months old now and weighs 15 lbs. Unbelievable! He’s already wearing 6 month old baby clothes.

Congratulations KristiJill!
One of my sisters, KristJill, plays on the Butte High School girls basketball team. They recently placed first in districts and competed in the 2A state tournament this weekend in Boise. The team made it all the way to the championship game. I got to watch the game via the internet and it was quite an exciting game!
Butte came from behind in the last quarter and tied the game up with only a minute or so left on the clock. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to score on their last couple of attempts during the last few seconds and lost the game by two points (56-54).
I’m sure that they are all quite pleased with how well their team did this year but it’s always disappointing to lose the championship game by only one basket. Luckily, the team is very young, so Grangeville—watch out next year!!
Congratulations KristJill on second place! I’m very proud of you.
