Wow, Zillo is amazing! Use it to instantly see how much your house is worth, compare property values, or see what houses in your neighborhood have sold for.
Simply enter an address to search for and see a map showing property values for every house in the area. Click on a house to see a detailed listing including property data, last sale price, and a graph tracking the value of the property over time.
This is the data that realtor try to hide from us and charge us big bucks for… get it FREE at zillow.com!

as far as i know zillow uses tax assessments to estimate the value of a home.
I like to use www.HomePriceMaps.com because they show how much homes were SOLD for using the google mapping technology.
also-if you don't see HomePriceMaps for your area, simply email them your address and or zip and they'll update the site within a day or two and send you a follow-up email.

Thanks for the tip. I know that Zillow uses a variety of different data sources, depending on what's available in the area. For example, in Vancouver, Washington, they actually do have the sell price of the house I recently purchased. But for other cities they very well might only have tax assessor data.
Personally, I like the additional data that Zillow provides, but HomePriceMaps is a good site to fall back on if Zillow doesn't have that data for your area.
