New pictures and video of Riley
I’ve uploaded some new pictures and a video of Riley to the media gallery. Riley is two months old now and weighs 15 lbs. Unbelievable! He’s already wearing 6 month old baby clothes.

Congratulations KristiJill!
One of my sisters, KristJill, plays on the Butte High School girls basketball team. They recently placed first in districts and competed in the 2A state tournament this weekend in Boise. The team made it all the way to the championship game. I got to watch the game via the internet and it was quite an exciting game!
Butte came from behind in the last quarter and tied the game up with only a minute or so left on the clock. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to score on their last couple of attempts during the last few seconds and lost the game by two points (56-54).
I’m sure that they are all quite pleased with how well their team did this year but it’s always disappointing to lose the championship game by only one basket. Luckily, the team is very young, so Grangeville—watch out next year!!
Congratulations KristJill on second place! I’m very proud of you.
Subscribe to this site
Did you know that you can subscribe to this weblog? That’s right—by subscribing you’ll automatically be notified whenever I post new entries.
This weblog takes advantage of a new technology called “RSS” that allows you to subscribe or syndicate the site.
Many new programs today support RSS. If you use the Mozilla Firefox browser just click on the little satellite dish icon on the right of the status bar to add a “dynamic” bookmark that automatically contains recent entries from this site.
Alternately, if you use Thunderbird (Mozilla’s e-mail client), you can set up an “RSS Feeds” account and add my site to that account. Then you’ll receive “e-mail” messages in this account whenever I post a new entry.
There are also other dedicated programs called feed readers that can subscribe to these RSS feeds. I’ve used a free one called RSS Reader that works pretty good.
Let me know if you have any questions of need help getting your subscription set up.

The redesign is complete!
I finally finished redesigning this web site! I’ve finished adding content to the other pages and all areas of the site should now be using the new design (except for the Media Gallery, but more on that later). Hopefully, everything should be working now.
Well, actually they say that a site is never finished and that will always be true of this site. I will continue to make minor adjustments and improvements as time goes by, but that should come as no surprise.
I will probably take a short break from working on this site as Sanni is starting to get tired of me always being on the computer trying to get my web site finished.
But there are still a couple of things that I have on the “to do” list for this site:
- As I alluded to earlier, the Media Gallery doesn’t currently use the same design as the rest of the site. Some day when I get around to it I may try and see if I can modify the program I’m using to manage the gallery and see if I can incorporate the design into it too.
- Part of the idea behind this redesign was to make use of new web standards that separate content from presentation. In other words, the design of this site is not tied to the content. I plan on creating several additional design themes (or alternate stylesheets) in the future when I can get around to it.

Welcome to my new web site!
I’m glad you found your way my web site. If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice that the site has gone through a major redesign. I’m now using a weblog program called MovableType that will allow me to easily post news and updates about me and my family (on a hopefully somewhat regular basis).
The upgrade is only about 90% complete at the moment, but I’m working on smoothing out the “rough edges” and hope to have all the links working soon and have all sections using the new visual theme.
